Health Benefits of Blueberries
In this section, we will discuss various health benefits of eating blueberries:
• Since blueberries are high in anti-oxidant content (like anthocyanin, copper, vitamins – B complex, C, E, A, zinc, selenium, iron) they promote immunity and prevent various infections in the body. When immune system becomes strong, you will not catch bacterial and viral communicable diseases such as pox, fever, cold, etc.

• The extract of blueberries is rich in compounds named anthocyanosides, which helps in slowing down visual loss. This fruit can delay or prevent age-related eye problems such as myopia, cataract, macular degeneration, hypermetropia and dryness.

• Micro nutrients present in blueberries help in healing or preventing neurotic disorders by preventing death / degeneration of brain cells and neurons. These berries can also assist in curing some serious disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. They heal damaged neuron tissues and brain cells and keep one’s memory sharp for a longer time.

• The high content of fiber in blueberries has the capability to dissolve bad cholesterol in the body. As a result, it cures many heart problems and strengthens cardiac muscles. Fiber also helps in keeping away constipation and improves the process of digestion. 1 or 2 pieces of berries will not do; you will have to consume a handful of them.

Sweetners Reduce Health Benefits Of Milk
As a kid I loved sweetened milk more than anything. I hardly take pap, but once you prepare my pap with peak condensed sweetened milk, I’m drinking that pap with glee. Little did I know I wasn’t drinking a healthy milk. Sweetners reduce the health benefits of milk I don't do that anymore though.

According to The Inquisitr;
Milk is touted as an excellent source of calcium, vitamin D, and other essential nutrients. The USDA recommends children and adults alike drink two to three cups of milk a day or at the very least to supplement with other dairy products like yogurt and cheese in order to attain the health benefit.

However, milk, both regular and chocolate, may not be doing a body good, especially if you are drinking down a cold tall glass of added sweeteners. The sugars used to enhance the flavor of most low-fat store-shelf dairy products can negate the health benefits, according to Harvard pediatrician David Ludwig.

Ludwig is the director of the New Balance Foundation Obesity Prevention Center at Boston Children’s Hospital.

“Americans are consuming billions of gallons of milk a year, presumably under the assumption that their bones would crumble without them,” Ludwig wrote in an article published in the medical journal JAMA Pediatrics. On average, the US dairy industry produces 20 billion gallons of milk annually.

Nigeria imports $1million worth of milk daily!

Drinking reduced fat milk has been recommended as a way to meet dairy intake guidelines and avoid saturated fat. But when the fat is reduced in milk or yogurt products, it’s often replaced with sweeteners, which makes it taste better but also adds sugar and calories, reports TODAY.

“The worst possible situation is reduced-fat chocolate milk: you take out the fat, it’s less tasty,” Ludwig says. “So to get kids to drink 3 cups a day, you get this sugar-sweetened beverage.”

One cup of low-fat chocolate milk is 158 calories, with 68 calories coming from solid fats and added sugars. One cup of unflavored, reduced-fat 2 percent milk is 122 calories, with 37 calories from solid fats and added sugars.

Several other studies have addressed the use and impact of sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners on one’s health – finding them addictive and causal to metabolism related diseases and disorders.

People are better off eating other calcium-rich or calcium-fortified foods as a healthier substitute in lieu of drinking sweetener-laced milk. These foods are easier to find with a growing number of adults becoming lactose intolerant.

5 Major Health Benefits Of Aloe Vera Plant
Growing up we had abundant aloe vera plant in our compound. They were very rich, thick, juicy and succulent. My compound was the only place with aloe vera in the whole community lol. We knew of the health benefits of aloe vera but not like it is known today. We didn't use it much till media on health benefits of aloe vera hit my village, it became an endangered specie. All of a sudden everybody in my village is  trying to live a healthy lifestyle and is now an aloe vera expert. They discuss its multiple medicinal qualities.

Most of us are unaware that the healing powers of aloe extend much beyond cooling and repairing sunburnt skin. In ancient times, aloe vera and its extracts were used for medicinal purposes. Today, researchers are discovering more advantages of this versatile plant. Mentioned below are the top five health benefits of aloe vera, aloe vera juice, and aloe vera gel:

5 Major Health Benefits Of Aloe Vera Plant Include;
1.Certain properties of the aloe vera plant make it an excellent remedy for speeding up the healing process to any injury. Aloe vera is excellent for treating scars, burns, and cuts.

2. Aloe Vera is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. In other words, it has the ability to arrest inflammation or slow it down due to the presence of fatty acids. Applying aloe vera gel can prevent or stop inflammation caused by injury, immune dysfunction, and many other problems.

3. Improves digestion and helps detoxify the body. Aloe vera juice and gel are both good laxatives and help in dealing with constipation.

4. As Aloe Vera is a cellular regenerator and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects, these properties make aloe vera one of nature's healthiest products. Being a strong antioxidant, it hunts down free radicals and protects the body and that is a huge health benefit.

5. The dried juice/gel of the aloe vera plant is traditionally used as a remedy for diabetes as the aloe vera juice lowers blood sugar.

Aloe Vera in almost all its forms possesses multiple medicinal qualities that can improve the immune system and help your body to recover more quickly, thereby increasing the quality of your life. Taking aloe vera in excess quantities can lead to harmful effects, so it is good to consume aloe vera in small amounts until you know how your body reacts to it.

Then I only used it for a clear smooth skin. How do you use aloe vera? Or are you missing out on the health benefits of aloe vera? For those who live a healthy lifestyle you might wanna try the green spiky healing plant called aloe vera.

Woke up. Went to service. Felt so supercharged at service today. It was explosive. I'm glad that I went. I haven't missed service this year. I want to keep it up. I even want to  increase my church activities. One of my new year resolution is to be more spiritual in christian sense.

Read: Secure Your Salvation

The spirit releases potentials as Open Heavens Devotional explained, so I want to release my full potentials.

Read: The Spirit Releases Potentials

Went to Caesar's place after service. Caesar is a good friend of mine. He is a voracious reader. He reads more of thought provoking books, controversies, etc and less of novels. In short there is so much to this guy. Stayed a while then went back home. I haven't eaten yet. I'm very hungry. I took a nap got woken by a call.

Oh yeah its 3:00 pm, first meal of the day just got served, white rice and peppery stew. I'm thankful for the meal. Actually that's why I went home from Czr's place though they are preparing food there too.
Went back to Czr's place 4:30 pm so we can go play football. Don't get it pleasantly mixed, we weren't on the team of Super Eagles that was billed to play Burkina Faso in the ongoing AFCON 2013.

I'm very health conscious this year. One of my new year resolution is to stay fit and I achieve via Saturday running and Sunday football. Healthy lifestyle is a combination of a healthy diet and a healthy living in terms of exercises. Health benefits of these two is lasting.

Read: Most Essential Health Benefits Gained From Running Regular

The super eagles later went on to beat Burkina Faso and win the championship. Bummer I dint even watch the match. The shout of celebration on the streets when we won was indeed deafening. PHCN that is known for being effective in not supplying power was ineffective today, as they supplied power before during and after the match. I've always been proud of my green white green despite all the shortcomings.
