Beloveth, Being A Church Worker Is Worthy Cause
Sunday June 09 2013
I think I remember shutting up my two phones as the 5:00am alarms went off like most of you do. Those irritating noise, they shouldn't just test me now for their own good. The next time I looked at the clock it was 6:20am! What?! I'm supposed to be in church by 6:55am for church workers meeting! How could I have overslept on a day like this? We all know the answer to that irrelevant rhetoric. I hurried like I've never hurried before. My nickname today should be Flash. I made it to church before 7:00am. What a relief. We had a church workers meeting before the service proper. Today was a thanksgiving service. It was wonderful

Finally The Redeem Christian Church Of God Light Of The World Parish has posted us the new church workers to different departments. I was posted to the Ushering and Sanitation Department as my Primary and Secondary departments respectively. We are yet to be officially presented to the congregation as church workers. I had wanted to be in the technical but it’s all good. I have no problem with the departments I found myself except I'm not much of a suit and tie person. As a matter of fact I have only one suit and a couple of ties. Lara was like I'm tall, handsome and suitably qualified for the ushering department. She was posted to the Technical and Evangelism Departments. I went home.

I slept first. I slept off in the middle of writing this entry. It would've been creepily nice if I continued in my dreams. A knock on the door ended my sleep. It was Deborah, another church worker. She came for the package she put in my fridge last night. I grabbed my laptop to surf the web and check my mails. I wanted to prepare sometime but once I get glued to the web and its informative as it's usually is, every other emotions is overrode. I was still online when Caesar came over.

This is the second time he has come to my place after my roomies started sleeping somewhere else. He never showed up when they were around. He was quick to point out the greasy look my room aesthetic wore as opposed to the shiny, fresh and clean look it was before the arrival of my roomies. We spent some time at my place then hit the spar to pick a few things. I picked an Adidas deodorant. He picked some drinks. I drove on our way back but we switched again when we got to the flooded road. I don't know where the potholes are so I don't want us to get stuck. The gist flowed nonstop till we got to his place.

Blessing prepared a hot meal for us. It was semo and ogbono soup. Blessing is a church worker in her church. I'm not friendly with ogbono soup. I haven't eaten it outside my house before. Well my stomach took the decision against all my protest. Should I say my protest fell on deaf stomach or empty stomach? The ogbono soup had a little bitter leaf in it hence the bitter taste. I finished and thanked them. Caesar gave a wheat wafer, sorta like baked cornflakes. I went home to warm my bed.

Sunday June 02 2013: Truth be told, I really like the peace and quiet of my room now. I did my morning rituals. Today’s church service holds at TBS Lagos. The Apapa Family holds is holding the annual service EXCEL Service. I attended VIM – Victory Inheritance Ministry instead. It rained the started drizzling, it’ll take a lot more than this drizzle to stop me from going to church today. I called Caesar to find out when to meet him at home and gave me 9:00am as usual. We made it in time before the end of praise and worship. Pastor Nelson Osewengie preached on a topic “I Have An Identity” It was a high octane session of undiluted insightful sharing of the knowledge of the good Lord and the world! By the way my identity is not subject to identity theft! If you don't know your identity it will be subject to abuse and misuse.

I ENJOYED THE SERVICE! I’m so glad I came here today. It was very refreshing. No offence to my pastor but I wish he can preach like this. I learnt a lot. He infused so many practical realistic examples to buttress his point which made the sermon very easy to digest. From start to finish it was worth it. it’s not good enough to know your identity but also make use of it. For those of you who don’t know, I Have An Identity Of Greatness! The church held different meetings after the service I had to wait. Ruth, Ese, Folake and Blessing are ushers here. Ruth didn’t come today, blame it on her ICAN exam. Ese and Folake had a little fall out which tried to resolve. It was a buyer-seller squabble over face powder.

From church we went to Spar. Caesar drove, Tony in the front seat, me in the middle flanked by Folake on my left and Blessing on my right at the back seat. We made fun of each other. Folake is a nice girl, she doesn’t talk too much but always speaks her mind. People that will talk my head off are not really my type. Blessing and Folake picked what they wanted they want and we left. If only I had my atm card I would’ve picked something as well. I didn’t have enough money on me. We dropped off Folake, I got dropped off too. First of, I donated my body to sleep. I stayed indoors throughout.

Amara came in the evening. She cooked jollof rice. I asked her about Ibe, she said he is fine. That’s good to hear. Caveat! I’m not asking so he can come back! I’m not asking cuz I miss him! Just wanna know if he is doing okay. Trust Ibe he will definitely understand it differently fortunately for me I don’t care. I’m only responsible for what I say and not responsible for he understands. I drifted off on my laptop.

It rained last night. And I slept so well. I almost overslept. Today is Time Out with the pastor. I went to church on time. I didn't put on a tire. Me and one other guy, Idara, was sent out of the class to get a tire from anyone. I just went straight home for a tire. I don't like throwing a tire into the mix, when I wear different coloured trouser and jacket. I did it for the first time. Pastor admonished us. It was meant to strengthen our resolve in this path we have chosen. He hit the ‘head on the nail’ like I always say.

The service somewhat started on a dull note for me. For some strange reason I didn't quite feel the service today. I just don’t know what happened. We had workers meeting after service to conclude on logistics regarding our graduation on 29 May. There was also men's meeting after service but I didn't wait to join the meeting. I went to Caesar's immediately I got home, we are going swimming today, it's like a culture now. Tony and KY are friends of Caesar and now my friends came around. We ate boiled maize, it was very good. Next Blessing served us sweet potato chips. After, she brought boiled groundnut. It’s all good. That's about what I have eaten for the day.

We left the house eventually to pick up Ruth and Ese. Folake won't be joining us today, she's busy at work with Jumia. Now Caesar has been trying to match-make Ruth and Tony but no luck. Ruth has never seen anything good about Tony, she doesn't like him. Tony and KY were in another car Caesar's plan was to ambush Ruth with Tony's sudden presence at the pool. I figured Ruth won't find it funny. I sent Caesar Whatsapp message about my concerns but dude didn’t do anything about it.

KY and Tony were in separate car and parked in the front waiting for us. By the time we came out and for some reason Caesar had to communicate with KY and Tony and then Ruth saw Tony. She flipped on Caesar big time. Caesar tried to deny but there was no plausible deniability for him. He has a long history of trying to literally marry Ruth and Tony together. Ruth sees his matchmaking attempt as an act that borders on criminality. The brawl raged for a while till she calmed down and accepted the fact that Tony was going to see her sexy laps lol.

We got to the pool in really high spirits. We had our own drinks alcohol and cranberry juice. I changed immediately and jumped into the pool with excitement cuz I wanted to try out a new floating technique I read about on the internet. It was the act of floating on water without moving a muscle. Water got into my nose a couple times. I tried some more still same result. But I have this feeling like if I really practice hard I can do it. At my age, one is not so adventurous in some quarters. If it were kid me, I know I will never stop trying to master this floating technique. A little later the rest joined me. The rest were Ruth, Blessing, Ese and Austin. KY and Tony weren’t going to swim.

The pool was relatively had a lot of people, even kids were showing their skills making the grown-ups who can’t swim like Ruth and Ese green with envy lol. To add salt to injury, the smallest of the kids, a very small girl started teaching Ese how to swim. It was a funny sight. The little girl was commanding boldly with a serious-business attitude like her swimming instructor and Ese would just try her best to obey her trainer to the later. She might’ve punished Ese for failing woefully if care wasn’t taken lol. It was some memorable spectacle that should’ve been recorded for future reference lol. Kids are such thing of joy! Caesar’s attention was divided between being in the pool swimming and being out of the pool chatting with KY and Tony. The gist centered mostly on the chicks in the pool.

Then I saw a nasty mucus floating on the water, oh God. That really messed up rhythm. I stayed out of the pool for a long even after the management has taken care of it. I didn’t swim much again. Ruth was really busy learning from the trainer in the pool. We went home earlier than the last time.

Today is the D-day. It’s the day of workers-in-training exam. I’m not satisfied with my preparation cuz a few things keep disappearing from my memory. I haven't shown Amara the text her husband sent me. When I told her about his call, she just said she don't know what's wrong with him. Ibe called again in the morning just before I went to shower. I picked the call said hello a few times and he didn't say anything. I let it read up to fourteen seconds of silence before I cut the call.

I wondered why he didn't say anything. Was he thinking I wouldn't pick his call? Foolish if that's the reason. That’s his business. I wore my jacket for the first time in ages. I then showed the text to Amara. In my exact words I said; Amara lekwa texti oma Ibe sendiri. Meaning look at the wonderful text Ibe sent. She didn’t say anything after she read it. I didn’t say anything either. I have a workers-in-training exam today I don’t want any foolishness to mess it up. I got to church on time. Bro Johnson took Open Heavens after which the workers in training exam commenced.

The workers-in-training exam was okay. It had a short answer section, a memory verse section and essay section of 5 questions to answer 3. I only answered one from the memory verse, three from the essay a couple from the short answer part. Assessing my performance, I passed. The result will be announced next class.

There was a guest minister, Pastor Ayo. He's also a musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist, etc. He plays sax mostly. Today was one of those days when the equipment decided to malfunction and the technical crew was helpless to salvage it on time. This pastor took the stage to 'saxify' us but the mics didn't want any part of it. Nevertheless the show must go on. He continued like that till the end. I felt him a little bit, I knew I would've felt it more had the mics worked. I love sax and violin very much. The youth were in charge of today's service. It was awesome.

The guy that led choir today was something else. I haven’t seen him before. The guy is a talented born entertainer. Toward the end of the service our pastor introduced the CD of the guest pastor and saxophonist, then I understood why the microphones rebelled. The CD goes for N2000! Are you kidding me? Said they produced it in South Africa. In my mind I was like no way I’m gonna get 100 feet near that CD lol. If I’m lying I’m dying. I prayed a prayer of faith believing God for ultimate solution to my current accommodation palaver.  I‘m so convinced in my spirit He has answered my prayer. When I got home nobody was home. I don’t know where they were. I washed few items and went to Caesar's place, we are heading to the pool.

The pool today was something that marvels the imagination. Me and Caesar went with Ruth and Folake and we met one of their church member Ese. Ese was a wild one. She isn’t the shy type and doesn’t hold back. It was fun galore from start to finish. As a matter fact we didn't want to finish. I've never soaked myself this long in a pool before! Oh well my eyes are bearing the brunt now. I was supposed to attend house fellowship but.....

Beloveth I haven’t eaten today but the massive jollification has exiled the hunger from my system. I don't even know what food is with my level of overflowing testosterone. Every end was once a beginning so our pool leisure came to an end. We went home. I stayed at Caesar's a little as I fell asleep in a flash. I went home when I woke up. The house was still a ghost of itself. Ibe and Amara were still gone. I don't mind if they sleep wherever they went. A peace of mind and privacy is all I ask. Is that too much mate? I took my clothes from the line. I bought a drink and a snack. Already I ate one small corn at Caesar's. That was all I tasted today. Now that my testosterone high has come down, I finally realized how hungry I was. I can’t cook anything now. My eyes are hurting, I just want to sleep.

A Worker Deserves His/Her Pay Sunday May 12 2013
Thank God for life today. This is the day that Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I went to the Lords house to worship him. He blessed me abundantly. I have never missed church service this year. That's a record for me. Lord I want to even deepen my christian life in truth and spirit. After service I had a good sleep. Went over to Caesar's.

I had a haircut later in the evening. Yeah I look fresh outta barber's shop now. Got home sprayed insecticide in the kitchen which is now being run by roaches. If only I can spray the insecticide continuously for at least two weeks they will be completely gone. After dropping the bombs on the roaches I went to shower. I was in the shower when Ibe and his wife came in. They stayed outside cuz of the fume of the insecticide. I felt fresher after the shower. I left the room too to get some fresh air.

I went and sat by our security post at the gate. That was how I unintentionally invited the young man pour out his complaint to me. He had a nagging issue with the self-imposed care taker of our compound which is my own landlord, Mr. Tony. Mr. Tony refused to pay him last month reason being he lost an old car battery for starting his generator. The security guy Peter is not finding it funny at all. I really felt for him.. Amidst his predicament is my own predicament of the asphyxiating stench reeking from his mouth, dude is drunk!

Though he is in control of his system to an extent but the inhibition to guard his mouth is gone. He has never talked to me about issues like this before. I saw a neighbour giving him some words of advice and encouragement earlier when I came back from the barbers. Now I know what it was about. I don’t blame him for being upset.

Frankly I strongly hate withholding someone's pay after the person has done the work, it’s an abominable, inexcusable and unforgivable crime in my books. A labourer deserves his pay for sake of equity. My cousin's nanny who quit under questionable circumstance has complained to me about her unpaid salary too. I don't care if he is my cousin or not he has to pay her salary arrears.

Somebody has already laboured and you are withholding her rightful bona fide reward for her effort, no I don't side with or condole such. Don't ever deny a worker his salary after he or she has done the work for you. It's a serious crime against humanity.

My Nuisance In Church Neighbours Sunday April 28 2013
Sunday April 28 2013
The night sleep was highly refreshing, I almost over did it. Having a full eight hours sleep has its mental health benefits. I woke up around ten minutes to seven. Man how sleepy I still feel. I need more sleep lol. I hurried lazily out of bed. As I was about to shower I felt a bit pressed to take a dump. What?! At this time?! For me taking a dump is like yoga. If you know the benefits of yoga, that is benefits of me taking a dump. I take my sweet time to do the service. I don’t have time for this now. Let’s keep it safety deposit box, more like fixed deposit account till I get back from church! I prepared for church. Long story short, I went late by a minute I believe.

We had the class. I enjoyed the Open Heavens as was taken by a fellow trainee worker though she has been long in that sorta service. After that service commenced as usual. Praise and worship took place.

As the choir was ministering through one lovely song, my neighbour came in accompanied with his girlfriend and settled beside me. I never expected what happened. This guy and his girlfriend were total nuisance in the church especially to me. They kept talking and talking like they were lounging by the bar. It was a non-stop session of talking, snickering, laughing and they didn't bother to keep their voice down. When we stand up to pray, they'll be sitting down completely devoted to their disturbance and nuisance in church.

I always ask myself why do people like this who cause nothing but nuisance in church bother to come to church anyway. What do they come to accomplish since they are not interested in the service? Is it to show there face and fashion? It is so annoying. They were agents of the devil period. They came just to distract people but it won’t work on me. Father forgive them for they know not what they do. I''m sure they do know this time. After service I went home. This guy has really made a horrible impression, his new reputation that of an unapologetic nuisance in church.

Bored. Hungry. Alone. I drank garri. Back in church I had this yearning urge to drink garri with salt that possessed me. I haven’t drank garri in ages but that was my expensive staple back in secondary school days. The benefits of having garri back then was immeasurable but students always abused drinking of garri. I drank the garri and felt so deeply satisfied. I simply obeyed my urge. I don't know how nourishing it was, my innards can explain that better. I holed myself indoors. I used that opportunity to wash my bathroom, left to Ibe, the place can look like a sewer and he will be perfectly comfortable with it. Not that I expect him to wash it, that’s like a pig to neaten up like a cat. His has his strength in some other department.

One of my neighbours Egana called me, she is very cheerful always smiling good-looking girl. Her smile is contagious, too contagious for a single Nigerian man like me lol. She came to spend some time with me. I’m glad she came. Again thats a nice temptation for a single Nigerian man like me. I was pleasantly surprised too. We spent quite some time, talked at length, we learnt so much about each other. She left sometime in the evening. As she left I got on autopilot went to Igbo Efon to see Caesar. A few minutes after I arrived at his place, his babe served us a delicious healthy meal. You'll think I timed it but it was just my luck. UC a mutual friend of ours came over too.

We talked and talked, no actually Caesar talked and talked and....but not like the nuisance in church fellow. Mehn this guy never gets tired of talking. I admire him cuz he reads wide so he makes incredible sense when he talks but I don't always agree with everything he says. My eyes started going numb slightly. I had to leave. I went home and hit the sack head on. I don't know when Ibe came in the night.

Why Do Some People Go To Church To Distrub?

I got up early but almost went to church late. I wanted to quickly do a few things on the internet and before you know it I got carried away. Im sure you know and understand how easily one can get lost on the vast infinite ''Webland'' called internet.

I just rushed everything on the double and went to church glad I made it on time. I volunteered to teach from the Open Heavens in the next worker-in-training class. The Sunday began seamlessly. The choir did a number that shook the entire exceptionally. We sang the song over and over again. Service was wonderful. There was a youth meeting after service but boy I didn't wait for that. Im pressed and hungry. Not like Im going to eat when I get home cuz my fast ends by 3:00pm today, a full 7 days fast. I went home.

I stayed indoors and worked on my lappie. There was this idea I had of a unique kind of social network site, I started working on what it will look like yesterday. I’ve not decided on the name yet but I have something in mind. I want to create something that will boast of more users than Facebook. Im not a web designer I was doing a PowerPoint to make the idea more picturesque, understandable and sellable to a potential investor or a web designer.

How time flies when you are having fun or busy at work. It was way past 3:00pm when I only ate a piece of chicken from the stew. I ate proper meal around 4:00pm. Before that I did a little clean up in the kitchen. The filth-friendly lifestyle of Ibe and his wife has brought a terrible cockroach infestation. I’m still unable to eradicate the menace. I remained indoors for the rest of the day. I looked at the Open Heavens for next week, yes its me going to take the Open Heavens.

Temptation And Relaxation Sunday April 14 2013
The good Lord woke me early. I put together things I needed for service today. Caesar invited me to their church today for a special cultural Sunday. It’s a once in a year service. They serve buffet of magnificent array of mouth-watering finger-licking Nigerian dishes after the service. I have a workers-in-training class in my church. I didn't want to miss my class and I didnt want to just go for the food without attending the service itself. Otherwise I would've gone to Caesar's church immediately after my workers-in-training class.

The class went well. So did the service. As I was heading home from church I called Caesar to touch bass with him. He said if I can make it to their church in ten minutes then I can meet the buffet. Of course thats beside the point, I have no interest to start rushing to VIM at that point. I sent him a text after the call to bring me some takeaway.

We planned to go swimming today at Orchid Hotel, I asked him to let me know once he gets home so I can come join them. He called me suddenly to hurry up to a rendezvous so we can go swimming. That wasnt the plan na!! He didnt call me when he was on his way back, neither did he call me when he got home. He probably forgot. I changed hurriedly and grabbed my swimming kit. He was already getting impatient waiting for me. If only he had told me on time.

Temptation And Relaxation Sunday April 14 2013
Today's swimming hang out was out of the ordinary, we were more than seven in number. Tony went with us in company of one other guy. Austin, and Caesar's girlfriend Blessing also came. Another guy their church member came as well. They all came from the church and made fun of me not showing up for the much publicized traditional church service. Caesar wasnt really disappointed and unhappy that I didnt come. I tried to explain to him, thats the best I could do.

The pool was relative empty at first, but gradually it started filling up. He paid for my swimming. We had fun. There were cute chics in the pool today. there was this particular one with killer figure but not with a killer face. She and her sister turned out to be very friendly. Austin was just all over her. Well its all part of the fun. They were Nigerians but grew up in France, sorta like tourist to Nigeria.

Finally the fun had to come to an end. Did i forget to mention we came with our own drinks, but we got a word from the management that its not really allowed especially if the hotel sells the drink we came with.
The idea of opening a joint business click and venturing first into the food industry was mooted by Caesar. Tony bought the idea, so did myself and one other guy that came (I have forgotten his name).

We went home afterwards. I showered, ate. Eventually I kissed my pillow and bid the night farewell.

I woke up around 3:30am, trying to figure out what to wear. I don’t have any ironed shirt nor trouser, there was no power. I need to be in church before 7:00am. I employed the age long technique of spraying a little water on the rumpled shirt and hang it to dry. Then I got a fairly neat looking trouser. I read a little and fell asleep again knowing fully well it will affect my wake up time.

I set my alarm for 6:00am and almost tied it to my head. It rang and I did what every alarm disobeying person will do. Unfortunately/fortunately for me I didn’t turn it off the first time I heard it, it may not be the first time it rang. I remember clearly pressing something to stop the alarm but I didn’t remember why I set the alarm. The last rang that woke at about 6:39am I just have 21 minutes before its 7:00 and Im supposed to be there at least 5 minutes before 7:00am. Goddamn it! On top of that Im supposed to be on tie but Im not.

By the time I reached they had already started as expected. I joined. Topic was Baptism of Holy Ghost. After the class was a session serious Pentecost prayer for the holy ghost to fall those/us that are yet to receive it and thus speak in tongue. Im usually skeptical about the speaking tongue thingy. I don’t doubt there are genuine speakers, but Im also 100% certain some fake it. Yeah that Im even 1000% sure. Im well armed with that knowledge right from my Scripture Union days secondary school. I didn’t fake it then we know those who did and those who made fun of it. I prayed that the spirit of doubt be removed from me and they prayed for me to speak in tongue.

My mind went blank, I couldn’t even remember the common ones I hear, not that I wanted to say them. I mumbled something like a child's first word. At a point my limbs felt so heavy, as if I was going to fall. My sub-conscience acted on its own feebly carrying my weight. It took a while before the heaviness gradually subsided. After the prayer ended I was still feeling a bit so-not-myself. Also I gradually became myself. I know something transpired, no denying it. I would like to have a fullness of it. The service was great. When I got home my mind still wandered about the experience. Then it drifted back to my studies.

Ibe was at home. I lay down to relax a little before reading. He fell asleep. I lost track of time lying there. Then PHCN brought light, less than five afterwards Ibe woke up. Like a timed-automated machine response, he turned on the television immediately his eyes opened. The way it happened its safe to say he actually sleepwalked to the television and finally woke up when the blaring volume hit him. My study room just transformed into a full HD 3D cinema.

I rested some more and just packed my books and went to the office to read. First I grabbed lunch from Shoprite. It was really comfortable reading in the office, if only it was very near to my house. I read until it was dark. I left a few minutes after 7:00pm. I got home to the echo of myself. I watched Inuyasha a little, you know the saying about all work and no play. The came in much later. I went to bed a little later.

I had planned to attend House on the Rock Church today since today's at my church will hold at the Surulere Stadium. I didn’t wake up on time. Oh mehn not today. I got ready to go to House on the Rock Church. I went to bus stop at the same time the Catholic Church at the bus stop just finished one mass. They just flooded the bus stop, great! Now getting a bus will be difficult. I waited for a while, it was no use. I checked two nearby churches, I wasn’t impressed. I went back to waiting for a bus. Prior to going to the bus stop, I had already called Caesar to find out if he was still at home so I can go to his church with him. He didn’t pick the call. But God had a way of doing his thing.

While I was slowly leaving the bus stop to check out a third church, I had somebody shouting my name. He called several times before I heard it. He wanted to withdraw some cash from the ATM and head to church. That was how I went to his church with him. They had a guest preacher from Ghana named Koffi Ampiah. He was something else. The service was full of resurrection. After consuming such soul/spiritual buffet, they church served yet another buffé. The meal was good. We went home with a plan to go swimming.

I had already planned to visit my friend Uche Nwañu but I cancelled at the mention of swimming. I have been craving to jealously treat myself to an all fun swimming session but the stars won’t just align for it to happen. This is a perfect chance. The sun is unbelievably hot at that. He invited one girl Ruth. We went to Orchid Hotel. I had a helluva great time soaking my skin in that pool. I met one cute looking Abigail, she is one helluva swimmer. We didn’t exchange numbers though, I just didn’t take it that far.

The girl we went with, Ruth, she can’t swim. Surprisingly she learnt so much on her first day of swimming. She's got admirable courage, that's why she was able to overcome her fears and learn so much. She came to the deepest part of the pool by holding unto the edge of the pool. I mean she is brave. When we've had our splash to fullest, we went home very satisfied. I hung out with a little more before heading home for the night.

I woke up early for church cuz I got workers-in-progress class at 7:00am. Today is palm Sunday by the way. Went to church early and was on time for the class. It was very interactive. Part of the lesson was restitution. There was something bothering that I wanted to ask but couldn’t. It was too personal to share in the class I guess. Or maybe it’s not really restitution related. I said I will as the assistant pastor privately. I hope I’m not populating the list of things I let lie fallow in the limbo things I wanna discuss with a true pastor. Service was also uplifting. There was youth and singles meeting after service, I couldn’t wait cuz I was expecting a visitor.

After service I went straight to restaurant to eat. I met Obi the wine dealer on my way and we had a chit chat. It kinda delayed me a little. The cloud starting turning so I had to cut the chit chat short. I found my way to the restaurant eventually. Immediately I started eating heaven lifted restraining order on rain and it just fell in its fullness. Instantly everywhere was flooded, trust Lagos and its flood issue. I took my time with the food. The kid I met at the restaurant really served me a large portion, I’m sure his madam would served something smaller that will make me wanna buy extra lol. Hey kid, I thank you specially, it’s like you know the feelings of my tommy. I finished my food which was deeply filling. I can’t say much about the taste. Sometimes you get so hungry that your taste buds malfunctions and starts hallucinating.

I played Asphalt 6 on my phone to pass the time while I sit out the rain. Wondering, will this stop my visitor from coming? The sky finally finished bathing this portion of earth's surface. I walked home. I had a good sleep before my guest arrived. We played catch up and also talked about good old days. Ibe and his wife were around. They didn’t seem to have gone out today at all. I saw my guest off around four o'clock. I couldn’t make call on my phone. MTN must be having some technical issues. I had like N490 call credit and the thing kept telling me 'your account is too low for this call...'.

Today is my second workers-in-training class. I woke up and prepared for service. The starts by 7:00am prompt. I was late by a two minutes, different watch times I guess. I got punished for it by staying at the back of the class for some time. We read open heaven in the class. Service was good but I was feeling sleepy again. What is the problem? It ended well after all.

Only Amara was at home when I got back from church. She was trying to clean the room. I decided to not touch anything in the name of cleaning for several days now just to see how filthy they make the room and still be comfortable with.  Call it observational research if you will. The bathroom has packed dirt like ''text-coat paint'', everyday new cotton swab populate the room, also white toothpicks has joined the queue, empty insecticide canister at one corner, clumps or clods of attachment hair punctuate several corner, trash in the kitchen competing for height with Dubai Burj tower, repulsive smell harshly greets you as step inside the room (you might need a gas mask), etc. I was like, and God remembered me, in other words and this room was remembered for cleaning today. I had to move one or two times for her to do her cleaning.

After cleaning she left. I was alone. I tried to sleep. But sleep wasn’t coming. In between my waiting for sleep to knock me out, Ibe waltzed in. A few more minutes and I gave up the quest to sleep and went over to Caesar's. They were home. His babe was in the kitchen. We exchanged pleasantries and all. Caesar as usual invited me to play drought with him and the unusual happened. I beat him two straight games and he struggled to win the third. This is my first time of winning him at that game. He won some more. We played ludo and he won a few times more than me. As we whiled away time on different game boards, Blessing finished her assignment in the kitchen. She served a delicious Edikan Ikong (Edikaikong) soup with semo. The soup was very rich.

After we finished our meal I went home to change for the evening football game. Normally I drive Caesar's car to the venue while he rides bicycle but today I decided to ride bicycle instead. That was a good exercise too. My side demolished Caesar's side 11-2! It was hilarious lol. On my way back to from the game, I took an alternative route meant to avoid the toll gate. It was my first time on that road. The scenery was awe-freaking-some! The road was long and soo good and very free. It made my ride the most enjoyable experience that evening. I returned the bike much later cuz of my little detour. It was worth the while. I got home showered and had a very nice sleep.

Woke up early feeling good. Feeling pumped up. In the meantime I had a whatsapp chat with Enque. She wants to visit her elder sister at Ikotun who gave birth a week ago. I asked if I can join her, she didnt mind but I knew I wasnt going anywhere. Ikotun is freaking far and the traffic is murderous. I did my devotional. I wanted to attend Sunday school today in church so I prepared for church early. I had promised to give or should I say lend Chioma some money today, she asked yesterday. We agreed to meet at my bus stop anytime after 6:30am since she'll be attending 6:30am mass at the Catholic Church at my bus stop.

She changed her mind and thinks its terrorism to let me know. I sent whatsapp messages, no reply. I called countless times before she picked telling me is still on her way at around 8:39am. Im so pissed off. Now I've missed sunday school. She came at exactly 8:55am. She knew I was hyper-pissed off. She  apologised and apologised and apologised but I wasnt really smiling. I went to church afterwards. It went well. Seriously I need to tame my mind from wandering to naughty things atimes in church. I answered an altar call for workers. I have always wanted to work in the church in some way. Today I took a bold step towards achieving this spiritual goal. We had a workers-in-training class after service. I kinda feel good. I dropped a sizeable tithe so I feel good about that too. I took the workers form and went home.

I prayed for alot of things, alot of people, alot situations, etc. Before I got home I told Enque I cant make it to Ikotun, few minutes had already passed 2:00pm. And she has been there since 1:00pm. Oh it wasnt  meant to be right from when I made the plan. I knew the outcome, talk of seeing the future. I rested a bit a home then my feet found there way to Ceaser's place. Noone was home there. I went back home rested a little while then hit the road for Spa Supermarket. My mission was simple. First grab a pizza from Debonnaire's Pizza, next head to the office to pick up something. I went for sweet and sour chicken pizza, standard size. That I did. I attacked the pizza like a fresh outta jail guy whose has been sex tarved for years will attack a woman. Mission accomplished. It was already late when I got home.

I woke up with a start, feeling good. Read my devotional and prayed. I have feelings of immense and overwhelming success, peace and bliss. I went to Victory Inheritance Ministry, Ceaser's church. There was one wonderful testimony I heard that really moved me. The testimony in summary was how an ordinary commission staff whose boss is very difficult and has spent the last six months whining, complaining and trying to quit a job which she has done since 2010, now got rewarded with manager training course in USA. The embassy gave her instant 2 year multiple visas with working permit. Someone put her name and she got chosen. She wasn’t qualified in any way. She wasn’t a full staff nor a manager. That’s the power of God's awesomeness. After service they held eagle's (they call the youths eagles) meeting.

We went to Tony's place at Isolo. They reception was grand. His mum prepared wonderful delicious meals for us. She wasnt around when we went there. Some of the dishes were already laid out nicely on the table. We helped ourselves to some nice food. I have not eaten like that in a long time. I thanked him from the depths of my heart for his hospitality. We all did. His mum came in much later, she had to rest so we didn’t spent time with her. We left Tony's house around 4:30pm. We dropped him at Dolphin Estate and headed home. Soon as we got home we changed immediately into our sports gear and went to Ikota school to play football. It was late we dint have much time to play but we did anyway. To my surprise I got tired very quickly though I played till the end. I sweated so much. What could be the cause? Ceaser usually rides his bicycle to the field while I drive. The car refused to start at first, it later started at its convenient time.

By the time we got home Ceaser was home as usual and Doctor was in the house definitely because of Aver. This guy is married with four kids but still pursues girls heavily. I find it very disgusting when men cheat on their wife with multiple partners. I can endure cheating with one person. Though the bottom-line, cheat is cheat. None is a lesser crime. I can’t imagine myself doing that when I get married. I wasn’t really feeling myself. This drummer called headache was pounding the left side of my head with 20 ton sledge hammer. I just disinvolved myself from all the raunchy chats and plays. Aver came so alive and overcharged with all the raunchiness going on. I just tuned them all out like a station with nuisance program. Few minutes later after I had a cup of wine, I begged for my leave and went home. I showered and zzzzzz instantly.

My Diary: Sunday 17-02-2013

Woke up. I lazed about in the house before going to church. Everybody went to church today. I went to Redeem my church, Ibe went to The Dome in Lekki and his wife Amara went to a different one. We all went to worship God almighty, same destination different paths. For some reason I was so sleepy in church unlike me. Does it mean my body is yet to make a full recovery from the sleep I denied it yesterday after the Saturday run in the morning? Ok body I will make it up to you somehow, just don’t embarrass me going to sleep without my authorization. We had a church youth meeting after service. We were only able to fix a date for youth fellowship meetings where we can now tackle matters at hand like electing new exco, financing the viewing center, etc.

I got home and went catatonic in land of the awake as soon as my back touched the bed. The only thing I was able to remove was my palm slippers plus my watch. I wore one hausa attire, dont know the name but its one of those annoyingly overflowing attire, lol. Yep I wore it. I slept still wearing it. I had a real good sleep.

Don’t know if it was a text from Suggy asking for the address to my place that woke me. Is it telepathy or premonition because my phone was on silent mode. I checked the time, it was about 45 seconds earlier. I replied immediately. Later she arrived. I went out to buy her some refreshments and she came with me. By the time we came back, Ibe and his wife were preparing to leave to give us some space. By the way Suggy is just name pet I call her and she calls me the same thing. We worked together at my former company Vectis before the company shut down. That was when we developed a close friendship. We had a good time catching up.

She came with extra luggage. She came with her laptop for a PowerPoint lesson. Gladly, I taught her a few things about PowerPoint. We talked about alota stuff. She left around 6:00pm. We strolled from my place to the bus stop. I was wary of the dust cuz of my catarrh but I just left it in the hands of the universe to keep me safe. We kept in touch via text messages until she was home safely.

Woke up. Went to service. Felt so supercharged at service today. It was explosive. I'm glad that I went. I haven't missed service this year. I want to keep it up. I even want to  increase my church activities. One of my new year resolution is to be more spiritual in christian sense.

Read: Secure Your Salvation

The spirit releases potentials as Open Heavens Devotional explained, so I want to release my full potentials.

Went to Caesar's place after service. Caesar is a good friend of mine. He is a voracious reader. He reads more of thought provoking books, controversies, etc and less of novels. In short there is so much to this guy. Stayed a while then went back home. I haven't eaten yet. I'm very hungry. I took a nap got woken by a call.

Oh yeah its 3:00 pm, first meal of the day just got served, white rice and peppery stew. I'm thankful for the meal. Actually that's why I went home from Czr's place though they are preparing food there too.
Went back to Czr's place 4:30 pm so we can go play football. Don't get it pleasantly mixed, we weren't on the team of Super Eagles that was billed to play Burkina Faso in the ongoing AFCON 2013.

I'm very health conscious this year. One of my new year resolution is to stay fit and I achieve via Saturday running and Sunday football. Healthy lifestyle is a combination of a healthy diet and a healthy living in terms of exercises. Health benefits of these two is lasting.

The super eagles later went on to beat Burkina Faso and win the championship. Bummer I dint even watch the match. The shout of celebration on the streets when we won was indeed deafening. PHCN that is known for being effective in not supplying power was ineffective today, as they supplied power before during and after the match. I've always been proud of my green white green despite all the shortcomings.
